Our Wednesday youth club targets young aged 11-18 who are neurodiverse, such as those on the autistic spectrum. The club is open for them to enjoy some chill out space, refreshments and play indoor games such as pool, table tennis, table football and air hockey. The difference is that its quieter than our clubs on Thursdays and Fridays, and with controlled numbers to deliberately keep the group small. This should help those who struggle a bit in social settings but still gives them a chance to have a fun evening.

We are looking to make additions to our current team of volunteers who are there to support the running of the club. The club is held term-time only at the youth suite on the green in Yateley, Hampshire.

Commitment is just once or twice a month depending on your preference and the role involves engaging with our young people, setting and clearing up, manning the refreshments and working with a great team of youth workers. The role is on a rota basis so there is no weekly commitment.

What skills do I need?

Ability to interact with the young people and work well as a team.
Sense of humour and willingness to have fun is key!
Patience to help support their individual needs
Volunteers need to be 18+

Availability Details

The sessions run Wednesdays 7-8pm during term time. We would ask volunteers to be also available for 15 minutes either side of this to help with setting up and clearing up.
