Volunteering is at the heart of everything we do. As the Volunteer Centre for Basingstoke & Deane, we can help you find the answers to what, where, when and how to volunteer. We work with local voluntary, community and charitable organisations that are in need of volunteers in order to fulfil their mission and help the people and communities in Basingstoke & Deane.
Volunteering is a great way to meet new people. It allows you to connect with your community and make it a better place. It can also be of great benefit to you, allowing you to gain career experience, learn valuable new skills or to perhaps increase your self confidence. By volunteering, you are able to offer essential help to worthwhile causes, people in need, and the wider community. Many organisations and charities in the local area rely on the generosity of volunteers and are always looking for an extra pair of hands.
Volunteer North Hampshire is our dedicated website advertising volunteering opportunities across North Hampshire, which covers Basingstoke & Deane, Hart and Rushmoor districts. You can search and apply for roles that suit what you are looking for. You can find this volunteering platform below.

Our Volunteer Drop-in Centre takes place every fortnight on Tuesday between 10:00-13:00 and is run by appointment only.
You’ll meet with our volunteering advisor who will be offering tailored 1-1 support and guidance around finding a volunteering role and may pose the following questions: what kinds of role are you interested in? What would you like to give or gain by volunteering? When are you available?
Your answers will help our advisor find roles that are of interest to you – we’re all about finding you the perfect opportunity!
To book a 30 minute appointment at our drop-in centre with our volunteer advisor, please email vc@bvaction.org.uk. Further details regarding the address of our centre will be given upon request.
