What can I do to help?Ukraine Supporters Network

Groups and individuals wanting to offer support to Ukrainian refugees and Host families in Basingstoke & Deane:

Please join the Ukraine Supporters network in Basingstoke & Deane .  The aims of the network are:

  • To connect groups and individuals from across the borough who are seeking to offer support, offering opportunities to link with peers and share best practice
  • To serve as a central vehicle for cascading information between groups and providing updates from local and central governments sources as these become available
  • To serve as a mechanism for connecting local residents who come forward wishing to help with their nearest support group that has already been established – aiming to reduce duplication and enhance neighbourhood connectivity

If you wish to get involved, please consider registering on our mailing list to receive updates: http://eepurl.com/hYfzQH

Is there any other ways I can help?

Donate to Ukraine Crisis Appeal
On 6th June 2023 the Nova Kakhovka dam on the Dnipro river collapsed. In some areas water has risen by 8m and over 16,000 people have been impacted. Alongside local emergency services, Ukrainian Red Cross volunteers evacuated over 2,198 people within the first few days. Now, access to clean water is one of the region’s primary needs as an estimated 100,000 tonnes of drinking water will be needed every day. Ukrainian Red Cross teams are supporting people with essentials such as food, water, hygiene and sleeping kits, and reuniting families who have been separated. You can find out more and donate here: https://donate.redcross.org.uk/appeal/ukraine-crisis-appeal
