How Do BVA Help with DBS Checks?

A DBS check may be needed for certain jobs or voluntary work, e.g. working with children, in healthcare or with vulnerable adults. The DBS have provided a guidance on eligibility tool to help you know which level of check is required for your staff and volunteers.

All basic checks, including those for volunteer applications, are £18.00 if obtained direct from DBS via this link

BVA are stepping back from delivery of DBS checks as we have identified more affordable online options for our members.  We are currently signposting groups to Basingstoke based ukcrbs ( https://www.ukcrbs.co.uk/ )   who offer a quick and easy online service with no registration or membership fees. The service includes the option for digital verification which we highly recommend you use as this removes the need for manual checks of supporting documents.  Contact ukcrbs  here for details of how to register and use the service.

BVA are concentrating on supporting our members in understanding and navigating the DBS system by offering training, information and advice to raise awareness of the legal eligibility aspects to ensure our members are compliant and following good practice.
