What Does Our Building Offer?

Nestling on the edge of the War Memorial park in Basingstoke, The Orchard provides well-appointed accommodation, together with first class meeting and conference facilities.

Conveniently positioned within less than half a mile from junction 6 of the M3 motorway and 10 minutes walk from Basingstoke town centre and train station, the building is home to Basingstoke Voluntary Action and a wide range of local charities.

Meeting Rooms for Hire

The Orchard can offer a choice of meeting and training rooms to meet your needs and a range of equipment, including internet access.

Our meeting rooms are available for hire by the hour for short or long term periods.

Parking is available at the Orchard.

Refreshments can be arranged via The Orchard Community Café. Please contact BVA for details.

Maple Room for Hire

The Maple Room is our small room at 10.92 sqm.

It seats up to 6 people and is ideal for small meetings, interviews or can be hired as a breakout room with the Cedar Room.

Charges applicable are at three different levels:

Orchard Resident Organisations Charge -First 2 hours free then £5.00 Per Hour

Non-Resident BVA Member Charge –  £6.00 Per Hour

External /Non-BVA Member Charge –  £12.00 Per Hour

Facilities & Equipment Included in Price:

  • Coffee Table and Large Table.
  • 4 Easy Chairs (extra Chairs up to 6 can be added on request).
  • Mobile Flip Chart.
  • WiFi

Please ask if you require any other equipment.

Acorn Room for Hire

The Acorn Room is located on the ground floor

It can seat up to 6 people and is ideal for small meetings, interviews or can be hired as a breakout room with the Cedar Room.

Charges applicable are at three different levels:

Orchard Resident Organisations Charge £7.00 Per Hour

Non-Resident BVA Member Charge –  £8.00 Per Hour

External /Non-BVA Member Charge –  £15.00 Per Hour

Facilities & Equipment Included in Price:

  • Coffee Table
  • 2 Easy Chairs (extra Chairs up to 6 can be added on request).
  • 2 Desks and 2 Desk Chairs
    Mobile Flip Chart.
  • WiFi

Please ask if you require any other equipment.

Cedar Room for Hire

The Cedar Room is our largest training room at 8.4x7M and comes with all the facilities you would expect to run a successful workshop or course.

The room has the flexibility to be laid out in numerous designs to fit your requirements.

The Cedar room can accommodate between 40 and 45 people dependent upon your chosen style.

It is air conditioned with two smart TV’s, a camera and mics for hybrid meetings.

Charges applicable are at three different levels:

Orchard Resident Organisations Charge – £10.00 Per Hour

Non-Resident BVA Member Charge –  £12.00 Per Hour

External /Non-BVA Member Charge –  £20.00 Per Hour

Willow Suite for Hire

The Willow Suite is a self contained suite of rooms with its own entrance and direct access to War Memorial park.

The suite comprises of a main room, and a toilet.

The room can accommodate 8 to 12 people.

Access to this area is via the main lobby.

Wifi access and other equipment for your event may be provided on request.

The room is only available from 9am to 4pm.

Charges applicable are at three different levels:

Orchard Resident Organisations Charge – £7.00 Per Hour

Non-Resident BVA Member Charge –  £10.00 Per Hour

External /Non-BVA Member Charge –  £20.00 Per Hour

Equipment

If you decide to hire any of our facilities then any equipment that we can provide is included in the cost, so with the Orchard there are no hidden costs.

Your participants will be greeted by our friendly and experienced staff who will ask them to sign a pre-organised signing-in sheet for fire precautions and then show them where you are holding your meeting.

​The room that you require will be set up in the style you have selected and the equipment requested will be set up prior to your arrival.

The range of facilities includes Internet Access.

Office Space

If you are looking for office space for your not-for-profit organisation why not see what we have to offer at The Orchard.

We provide fully serviced office space, with reception staff and support teams, kitchen areas, telephony and supported IT, car parking and on-demand meeting rooms provided as standard. We offer all-inclusive pricing, so you will know exactly what the costs are each month.

How to Find Us

The Orchard is based on the edge of the Memorial Park in Basingstoke near to the Civic Offices located at the end of White Hart Lane.

Parking at The Orchard is available to our residents, regular volunteers, & disabled visitors. Please click the direction box below for details on alternative places to park.

Directions

By car from the M3

  • Exit at Junction 6 signposted Basingstoke
  • Follow signs for Town Centre
  • At the Black Dam Roundabout go straight across keeping in the left hand lane
  • Take the left hand lane leading to a slip road signposted to the Town Centre
  • Keep in the left hand lane and join Churchill Way
  • Stay in the left hand lane
  • At the traffic lights turn left and follow the one way system up New Road – signposted Shops
  • At the second set of traffic lights at the top (1st set of lights is a pedestrian crossing) turn left into London Road – by the Basingstoke & Deane Civic Offices
  • On the right hand side you will see a Pub called White Hart
  • Turn right after passing the Pub – this is White Hart Lane
  • The Orchard is at the end of the Lane
  • The entrance barrier will open with a staff pass card or visitors can press the access button and reception will allow access if suitable. The barrier automatically lifts when leaving.

By car from the A30 Hook

  • At the Black Dam Roundabout turn right – follow signs for Town Centre and Newbury
  • Keep in the left hand lane signposted Town Centre
  • Take the left hand lane leading to a slip road signposted to the Town Centre
  • Keep in the left hand lane and join Churchill Way
  • Stay in the left hand lane

By car from A339 Ringway North

  • Exit the A339 Ringway North after the exit for A33 via the slip road from the left hand lane signposted Town Centre

Walking from Basingstoke Train Station

Basingstoke has good railway access and BVA is about a 15 minute stroll from Basingstoke Station

  • Come out of the station
  • Walk down the steps and cross the road
  • Walk through the shopping centre past Boots on your right
  • Walk through doors into Festival Place past the Sports centre
  • Carry on though Festival Place past Marks and Spencers Store on your right
  • Carry on walking in a straight line until you see Iceland in front of you
  • Bear slightly left and continue up to Café Nero and out into Wote Street
  • At the top of Wote Street turn left into Winchester Street,
  • Carry on along past the Post Office on the right
  • Cross the road by the traffic lights and continue down past the Civic Offices on your right again.
  • Turn right on to the Civic Campus and walk through to the gates on your right into the park.
  • Once in the Park, turn left and follow path to the Orchard

Walking from Basingstoke Bus Station

  • Exit the bus station via Festival Square
  • Walk up past Wagamamas on your left and proceed up the steps in front of you into Seal Road
  • Continue up New Road on the left past the pedestrian crossing until you reach the road junction with London Road
  • Cross the road by the traffic lights and continue down past the Civic Offices on your right again.
  • Turn right on to the Civic Campus and walk through to the gates on your right into the park.
  • Once in the Park, turn left and follow path to the Orchard

Parking

Due to limited parking at the Orchard we are unable to offer parking unless for disabled purposes.  The links below provide listings of all parking facilities throughout the Town Centre and we suggest you use Crossborough Hill car parking facilities (marked as 12 on the map) for up to a three hour stay which is free and Southern Road car parking facilities (marked as 9 or 10 on the map) if you require longer than three hours with a parking fee.

For Crossborough Hill Parking – At the second set of traffic lights at the top of New Road (1st set of lights is a pedestrian crossing) turn left into London Road – by the Basingstoke & Deane Civic Offices

For Southern Road Parking – Carry on past second set of traffic lights at the top of New Road and follow curve of road to the right. Entrance to car park is on the left
