We are looking for a Committee Treasurer to join & support our small team of dedicated, friendly, caring & forward thinking volunteers at this non profit making Community Group which is under the wing of the Good Neighbour Network.

We are situated in Heckfield Hampshire & meet for two hours on a Thursday  afternoon from 2pm to 4pm.

The Committee Treasurer is responsible for - 

All aspects of banking mainly online to include:

  • Signing  cheques, when necessary.
  • Ensuring the bank mandate is up to date.
  • Standing Order & direct debits are processed & paid promptly.
  • Paying any monies into the bank when needed.

Payment of bills:

  • Issuing all bills & invoices are paid
  • Providing financial reports for volunteer/Committee meetings.
  • Applying for grants
  • Ensure all monies are spent appropriately.
  • Provide information on what the group can afford to purchase. No major purchases should be made without the agreement of the whole group.
  • We estimate the time to be approximately 5 to 6 hours a month, possibly more as the group expands.
  • You will be expected to visit the group on a Thursday afternoon at least once to familiarise yourself on what & why we do what we do & meet the guests.
  • You will also need to allow time to attend volunteers meetings & allow time to respond & answer emails in between meetings, liase with Paula Bennett & complete actions & carry out responsibilities.

What skills do I need?

  • Accurate with figures
  • Book keeping through online banking assistant package.
  • Confident in handling cash & dealing with the bank
  • Can keep a cool head & work methodically & be a good communicator.

Availability Details

The role can be remote, although meeting up with other volunteers at 3 monthly Volunteers meeting would be useful to present a financial update & report & to visit the group at least a few times to get a feel & understanding for what we do would be beneficial to the role.
