Would you like to support a local charity that provides a weekly social gathering for people with dementia and their carers? The Daisy Chain Café are looking for a Session Leader to join their volunteer team. The sessions run weekly Mondays between 1:30pm-4:30pm at the Darby Green Centre but we'd only need you to lead 2-3 times in any six week period as the role is shared with other session leaders. You may be required to be a volunteer also for 1-2 sessions per 6 weekly rotared period as available (usually a total of 4 sessions per period max as a leader or volunteer).
Around 20 persons with dementia and their supporters attend each week along with around 11 volunteers. We have a weekly entertainments programme that will be ongoing at the sessions. Extra events on other days (about quarterly) and occasional fund raising events (1-2 per year as available) would also be part of the role, again shared with the other session leaders.
Some digital administrative duties and handling of small amounts of cash will be required.
Training is provided and peer support will be on hand.
We are happy to be flexible to accommodate volunteer needs (e.g. health or family).

Sessions run Mondays (except for Bank Holidays) 1:30pm-4:30pm. You will also need to be able to attend six-weekly meetings and occasional events.
