Do you love nature, wildlife and the outdoors? Would you like to support our wonderful nature reserve on the border of Aldershot and Farnham by getting involved in practical conservation tasks? Then this role could be for you!
Our reserve covers 55 acres and has a diverse mix of habitats including ancient woodland, heathland, streams, grassland, ponds and sphagnum bog habitats. Over 45 bird species have been recorded and we have a diverse array of mammals, reptiles and invertebrates including 33 butterfly species and 268 moth species. There are over 700 species of fungi. Conservation volunteers are needed on the 3rd Sunday of each month to carry out a range of maintenance and conservation tasks in the reserve. All tasks are supervised and include:-
No special skills are required - just a willingness to get involved in our wonderful reserve and help as required. A Health & Safety briefing and training for the tasks will be given at the start of each session.
