Responsible to the Chairman of the Management Committee for the smooth running of the Cove Child Contact Centre. Should have personnel management skills and an ability to organise programmes of work.

Tasks:

  • Preparing team rota
  • Liaising with the Secretary
  • Recruitment and training of volunteers
  • Liaising with/supervision of Team Leaders
  • Ensuring that rules and policies are implemented
  • Carrying out client interviews at contact sessions (Team Leaders are happy to share this role)
  • Attending and reporting at Management Committee Meetings
  • Occasional liaising with National Association of Child Contact Centres
  • Replacing/purchasing toys and uniforms

Ensure that contact sessions are controlled and dealing with any issues

The amount of time required for this role will be very variable, but with a Client Liaison Secretary currently managing the phone and setting up interviews the average time should be 4 hours per week.

The co-ordinator must have access to a computer and email facilities. Co ordinator will need to manage all records for NACCC Accreditation purposes.

Training, support and advice will be available from the present co-ordinator throughout the first year of office. A new coordinator would start out as a team volunteer.

The Co ordinator will have the support of a sound management team, currently consisting of three Team Leaders, a Chairman, a Treasurer, a minute Secretary and two team Volunteers. The Client Liaison Secretary is not currently on the management team, but keeps all parties regularly informed.

What skills do I need?

  • Person management skills are necessary - will be organising some 18 volunteers.
  • Ability to deal with (sometimes) awkward clients.
  • Basic computer knowledge required and access to a computer.
  • Co ordinator should be able to make calls on the Centre's mobile phone when need arises.
