While walking is fantastic in itself, studies have also shown the additional health and wellbeing benefits of taking a walk as part of a group. Make new friends, walk in amazing places and know that you’re helping people – just two reasons that people are motivated to volunteer.
We are looking for friendly, organised, enthusiastic walkers to train as volunteer walk leaders. We work in partnership with The Ramblers Association, and we are seeking to grow the pool of walk leaders to both support the existing programme and also develop new walks. You manage your own and routes. Your walks can be 30/60/90 minutes and can be slow, medium or fast paced. Many of our walk leaders lead walks at the same time on the same day each week but we are equally keen to hear from you if you want to do something different ie evenings or weekends or just one walk a month. You could train with a friend and share the fun? More details about the walks programme can be found here at www.ramblers.org.uk
Walk Leaders undergo Ramblers Well Being Walk Leader training which consists of e-learning, approx 40-60 minutes at your own convenience, followed by one 3-hour face to face training session in Basingstoke. Details of training will be discussed at interview.
