Community First Responders (CFRs) are volunteers who respond to 999 ambulance calls in their local area, providing immediate care and reassurance to patients and their families while the ambulance is on its way.
By Volunteering as a CFR, you’ll gain invaluable hands-on experience, develop essential skills, and enjoy the satisfaction of making a real difference to those in need. In this role, you’ll build confidence, connect with like-minded people, and play a crucial role in supporting your community’s wellbeing.
Why Become a CFR?
•Make a meaningful impact: Help people during medical emergencies when every second counts.
•No prior medical experience required: We provide full training and ongoing support – all you need is a willingness to learn and a desire to help others.
•Grow personally and professionally: Gain confidence, develop new skills, and meet others who share your passion for helping.
•Potential career pathways: After 18 months to 2 years of experience, CFRs can apply for internal SECAmb vacancies, opening opportunities for a career in the Ambulance Service. This can be discussed during your recruitment process.
So, are you passionate about helping others and want to make a meaningful impact in your local area? South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) is seeking dedicated volunteers to join their team as Community First Responders in Hart (North Hampshire) but we may be able to signpost volunteers in other areas.
It is worth noting that there may be a fast-track pathway for medically trained applicants who hold a FREC Level 4 or above.
