This volunteer role is ideal for someone who enjoys using social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram to make a meaningful local impact by helping build and maintain a strong, engaging online presence for the charity.

You will create and design eye‑catching posts, stories and visuals, keep content fresh, relevant and inspiring, and help reach a wide and diverse community, sharing important news, celebrating community character and attracting people who need support as well as new volunteers and supporters. You’ll be confident using social media and image or video design tools, creative in your approach to storytelling and happy to give a flexible 2–5 hours per week remotely.

What skills do I need?

  • Confidence using social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and similar channels
  • Ability to create engaging content, including posts, stories and basic visuals
  • Creative skills in photography, layout, storytelling or short‑form video
  • Ability to design, administrate and keep the charity’s website up to date, ensuring content is accurate, engaging and current
  • Familiarity with website platforms and content management systems (for example WordPress) is desirable
  • Familiarity with design or editing tools (such as Canva or similar) is desirable but not essential
  • Good written communication skills with strong attention to clarity, tone and detail
  • Ability to manage time effectively and contribute consistently on a flexible basis
  • Willingness to work independently while responding positively to guidance and feedback 

No formal qualifications are required for this role. Guidance and ongoing support will be provided as needed.
