Make a Difference – Join Hampshire’s School Governance Community!

Do you have an interest in education?

Do you want to play a part in shaping the future for children across our County?

Would you like to support school leaders, to assist children with fulfilling their aspirations?

Then come and join the school governance community in Hampshire, by joining a board in a school near you!

As a member of a governing body, you will meet interesting new people, have access to a range of training, develop new skills and knowledge and ultimately be able to play a part in preparing children for the future.

You do not need to be an education professional and you do not need to be a parent.

Governors are welcome from all walks of life - and boards embrace diversity of perspectives.

No specific skills are required to volunteer, you just need enthusiasm, some time each month to give back to your community and a desire to make a difference.

These opportunities are available in schools across Hampshire.

If you would like to apply to become a school governor, or if you would like to find out more about the role, then please do register your interest today. We would be very happy to have a conversation with you.

We hope to welcome you to the Hampshire School Governance Community soon!

What skills do I need?

Skills will be discussed with the governing body that has the vacancy. However, boards embrace diversity of skills, knowledge and perspective.
