Cove School, Farnborough is looking for volunteers to fill a number governor of vacancies we have. The role is for those who have a genuine interest in the opportunities for young people in the community and are willing to use their skills to support the school in improving outcomes. A governing body’s overriding responsibilities are:
1. Setting the strategic direction
2. Holding leaders to account for the outcomes
3. Financial overview.
Typically, this would require approximately 6 hours per month with scheduled term time evening meetings and occasional school time visits.
An interest in supporting pupils and staff at the school.
It is not necessary to have a background or knowledge of education, as training and support will be given. We are a team with differing levels of experience and skills, and we support each other in coming into school to meet with staff and support the work of the school.
Hampshire LA values the voluntary contribution of its governors and in return provides a high quality and comprehensive training and support service through courses and dedicated helpline.
