Would you like to make a difference to young people? 

We are looking for a new volunteer governor to join a dedicated and enthusiastic team of governors. Our role is to support the school and senior leadership team by offering strategic advice. 

A school’s governing body has three main functions:

  1. To ensure that the school has a clear vision and direction 
  2. To hold the headteacher to account for the school’s performance 
  3. To make sure that the school’s money is well spent 

Some daytime and evening availability will be required. Governors must attend 7 Board meetings a year (usually held 6.30pm - 8.30pm on a weekday evening) and are expected to play an active role in monitoring the school’s strategic plan through the academic year. Governors can become involved in a range of school matters, which can include recruitment, finance and the curriculum. This is a voluntary role.


What skills do I need?

We are particularly looking for a new governor with experience in any of the following areas: 

  • Safeguarding
  • Risk management 
  • Grants and fundraising
  • Entrepreneurship 

We welcome applications from those who are not parents or otherwise affiliated with the school.
