Our shops stock a range of donated items, and some specialise in furniture, antiques or other specific ranges of goods. As items can be donated at any of our shops, and our Donation Centres also accept furniture donations, our van drivers are a vital link between all of our retail sites. We are looking for volunteer van drivers to transport stock between our Donation Centres in Farnham and Farnborough and our 18 shops across West Surrey and North East Hampshire.

Key duties include:

  • Carry out vehicle safety check before commencement of driving
  • Load van from designated locations
  • To move goods in accordance with safe moving and handling training
  • Secure all loads safely for every journey 
  • To transport goods between various Hospice sites at times scheduled by the relevant Retail Manager
  • Deliver stock to appropriate locations and empty van of any stock at end of delivery
  • Ensure adequate fuel and oil levels are maintained and fuel receipts are handed in to the Donation Centre
  • Maintain cleanliness of van and sanitising of common touchpoints. 

What skills do I need?

  • Must be over 21
  • Full driving licence and good driving skills
  • Fit (this is a very physical role)
  • You will be asked to complete our Moving and Handling training
  • You will need to complete a minimum of two shifts shadowing an experienced volunteer
