BVA are very excited to announce that a supporter of the Oakley Bowling Club won £2,000 on the Basingstoke & Deane Community Lottery recently. We took this opportunity to ask the reason they choose to support the club via the lottery and this is what the winner had to say “Oakley Bowls club is run by its varied membership, and by supporting them it allows the club to maintain and make improvements to the facilities. It also supports the local community with a quality sporting facility”.

Following the win we spoke with the Club Secretary and asked why they would recommend other causes to join the lottery “As to why other causes should join I would simply say ‘Give it a go’, you have nothing to lose.  It costs the cause nothing, there is minimal work involved and even selling 10 tickets per week will give an income of £250 per annum.”

The Basingstoke and Deane Lottery is set up to support local charities and voluntary organisations in raising funds. It is free and simple to join and you are provided with support from how to set up to how to promote your cause and generate ticket sales. To sign up click here
