Do you have an hour or more to spare and would like to give a little something back to the community?... We are looking for Volunteers with all types of skills to help us. The charity supports older people in many ways so no matter what your professional experience we would like to hear from you.

A bit about us.... Age Concern Hampshire is an independent registered charity, working to support the ageing journey for older people in the county.

To do this, we offer a range of services to support older people, their friends, family and carers:

  • Information Service
  • Community Information Volunteers
  • Form Filling services
  • Care & Wellbeing Centres (formerly called Day Care)
  • Help at Home
  • Footcare
  • Hospital to Home

Are you passionate about helping a local independent charity? Would you like the opportunity to add to your experience and develop transferable skills in a different environment? If the answer is yes, then this role is for you.

Our Care and Wellbeing Centres can be a lifeline to older people. They are invaluable, fun places where older people leave their troubles at the door and enjoy each other’s company over a hot meal.

Some people come for the social aspect and activities, some come for a break from caring responsibilities at home, while others are dealing with relationship breakdowns or bereavement.

Your support and time to help in the centres is welcomed in any way, shape or form. This may be just a couple of hours a week.

As a volunteer you will:

  • Establish, maintain and develop relationships with users within the Centre
  • Provide assistance with domestic tasks including serving meals and dish washing
  • Work with individuals to maintain their independence
  • Be involved with the planning and implementation of activities in the Centre.
  • Provide assistance with activities and trips

What is in it for me?

  • Social interaction and a chance to develop friendships.
