Do you have time to support a local charity that provides a weekly social gathering for people with dementia and their carers? The Daisy Chain Café are looking for volunteers to join their team who help us out on a rota basis on Mondays between 1:30pm-4:30pm at the Darby Green Centre.
We have a mix of able clients who attend and love chatting, reminiscing, taking part in activities and being entertained.
In particular - but certainly not exclusively! - we would welcome volunteers that can talk to our male clients about DIY, cars, football and other largely male interests.
Training is provided for all those who would like to join us. If you wish to work to progress to being a session lead, we are very happy to support you to do that.
We are happy to be flexible to accommodate volunteer needs (e.g. health or family).
