We have a fantastic opportunity to become part of the MNDA team. Our visitors are the main contact for people living with MND, the person living with, their careers and their families. The visitors keep in contact, offering confidential emotional support and information to enable people with MND to be empowered and make informed choices.

Activities include:

  • Offer emotional support, help access appropriate services and provide information to people affected by MND
  • Help people affected by MND make informed choices
  • Explain to people how the MND Association can support them
  • Record information following the MND Association guidelines and local protocols
  • Work with our local team and support each other
  • Work with your Community Support Coordinator who will provide support and supervisions

We are especially keen to hear from people who are able to help in the Fleet and Farnham area.

What skills do I need?

  • Have good listening and communication skills.
  • Able to develop and maintain supportive relationships with people affected by MND and assess when extra support is needed.
  • Non-judgmental and respectful of diverse lifestyles.
  • A team player.
  • Prepared to increase your understanding of MND and its impact on families.
  • Understand the need for confidentiality and the importance of data protection.

    You’ll be inducted into the role and informed about the Association. As part of this, you will receive e-learning, face-to-face training and mentoring. The training programme will also include experiential and reflective learning.
