Basingstoke Voluntary Action (BVA) has partnered with the Mediation Agency to offer a confidential Early Resolution Service for local charities and community groups. The service is designed to help organisations address challenges early, before they escalate into formal disputes, protecting relationships, strengthening governance, and supporting continued service delivery.
Charities can access a free initial triage, providing a structured conversation to understand the situation, explore options, and receive clear, practical next-step guidance. Where appropriate, this may lead to mediation, facilitated conversations, or conflict coaching. Any further support is explained transparently and remains proportionate, with no obligation to proceed.
The service supports a wide range of issues, including trustee disagreements, staff or volunteer conflict, leadership tensions, and communication breakdowns. It is delivered by an experienced mediator network, with trained volunteer mediators supporting early-stage enquiries under professional supervision, ensuring both accessibility and quality.
Alongside case support, charities also benefit from practical resources, guidance, and webinars to help build confidence in managing conflict. This partnership reflects BVA’s commitment to supporting resilient, well-governed organisations and helping the local voluntary sector resolve issues constructively and early.
If your organisation is dealing with a difficult situation, you are encouraged to get in touch for an initial conversation. Early support can make a meaningful difference.
