‘Egg’stra Special: Families Celebrate Easter at The Bluebells

Sebastian’s Action Trust welcomed families to The Bluebells in North Waltham for a joyful Easter celebration on Sunday 29 March, bringing together children, parents and the wider community for a Mad Hatter’s themed tea party filled with fun, laughter and connection.

The much-loved annual event created space for families caring for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions to spend time together, enjoy seasonal activities and make special memories in a supportive and understanding environment.

From Easter egg hunts and craft activities to bouncy castles, candy floss and visits from much-loved community groups, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The day was made possible thanks to the generosity and support of local businesses and volunteers, including Cars and Curry Basingstoke, The Teddy Bear Run, RAF Odiham, Bugfest, The Little Hoof Company, Pic Me By Sweetalicious, JV Bouncy Castle Hire and more.

Katie Loosley, supported mum and volunteer coordinator, said:

“Thank you to the dedicated staff and volunteers at Sebastian’s Action Trust for delivering a truly sensational Easter event. Your hard work and commitment created an atmosphere filled with joy and laughter, allowing the children to experience something truly special.

My two-year-old daughter was so overwhelmed with happiness that she was in tears, expressing her wish to “play at Bluebells forever.” This heartfelt sentiment beautifully captures the magic of the day and the profound connection children feel to this wonderful place.

The smiles, laughter, and excitement of all the children are a testament to the care you pour into every event. Thank you for making such a positive impact on our lives. As a supported family, we are deeply grateful for everything you do.”

Sebastian’s Action Trust supports families across Hampshire, Berkshire and surrounding areas, offering care, community and moments of joy during some of the toughest times. The Bluebells, the charity’s fully accessible home-from-home, provides a welcoming space for families to relax, recharge and feel part of a community that truly understands.

The charity extends its heartfelt thanks to the many volunteers, supporters and community partners who gave their time, donated resources an d helped bring the event to life.
