About Brookvale Community Association

* Brookvale Community Garden for residents’ use and maintained by volunteers.

* Annual Brookvale in Bloom competition gives local residents the opportunity to show their work in their gardens that makes Brookvale a beautiful place to live.

* Annual Sustainability Day Workshops investigate climate change, energy issues and biodiversity initiatives.

* Annual BCA Thornycroft Day Clock Project fundraising includes the popular factory memorabilia display by Garry Bone.

* Community Coffee Mornings (50p per cuppa) on weekly Thursdays for residents meet committee members and plan events.

* Councillors Coffee Mornings (50p per cuppa) each month second Saturday for residents talk through their concerns, consultations new projects and local news.

* Annual guest speakers including local history.

* Annual events include a free Santa Grotto.

* Blurb (newsletter) 4 issues per year, delivered by volunteers to 1,900+ homes.

* Development Sub-Committee monitor issues and represent on all local area maintenance, regeneration, conservation and facilities.

*Brookvale Lottery donated funds to the new janitor’s area and fencing the Toddlers play area.

* Hall users - Toddler Clubs, Civil Service retirement group, LGBTQ+ social group, NCT Mother & Baby & breast feeding, U3A gardening group, diabetes prevention, dance, self-improvement activities, etc., and family parties.
