Oakley Stitchers CIC is a not for profit organisation who co-ordinate a group of over 500 volunteers who created over 60,000 items in 2024/25, for others.
For the last 6 years we have been bringing created items and people’s creativity together to support well over 45,000 people per year, which we are all so proud of.
Oakley Stitchers provides a purpose and sense of inclusivity for our volunteers around Basingstoke and Dean and beyond, for them to enjoy their skills and hobbies positively.
Our Stitchers gain so much from feeling included, needed and useful which benefits their wellbeing and self worth. By knowing they are doing something amazing while getting pleasure mindfulness and relaxation from something they enjoy doing.
We encourage others to achieve new goals, provide workshops to learn and open positive crafting sessions for all to enjoy. Stitchers and all who attend our groups meet other likeminded people and form links with other people and communities at venues around Basingstoke and Dean (at the time of writing this we hold 15 sessions a month at different times and locations).

About Oakley Stitchers
The items our Stitchers create are sent to individuals, organisations and Hospital units around the UK to provide support and a solution to issues that arrive often unexpectedly for so many people. The feedback we receive is powerful and many cannot believe a stranger would be there, thinking of them and willing to help them at such a moment in their lives, when they may feel alone, overwhelmed or frightened.
We have many opportunities for everyone, even if you don’t knit, sew, crochet or craft. Behind the scenes we have a dedicated team of project leaders, group leaders and admin who are always looking for support and to help others to get involved in the running and organisation of Oakley Stitchers CIC.
