Basingstoke Area Youth Orhcestras and Choirs support the groups run by Hampshire Music Service in Basingstoke.
They support the following nine groups; Basingstoke Area Youth Orchestra, Basingstoke Area Youth Wind Training Orchestra, Tadley Area Youth Wind Band, Basingstoke Area Youth Wind Orchestra, Basingstoke Area Youth String Training Orchestra, Basingstoke Youth String Orchestra, Basingstoke Area Youth Percussion Ensemble, Basingstoke Area Junior Choir and Basingstoke Area Youth Choir.
Playing or singing together is a great social and educational activity; BAYOC members are friendly, entusiastic and committed. The groups are organised in a 'pyramid' allowing progression to a higher level of performance as the musician improves their skill.
The conductors will decide which group will benefit your child the most at their stage of music development. Our most talented performers go on to perform at County and National level. Many ex players have found employment within the music industry or have excelled in other fields.
Auditions are held annually for the Youth Orchestra; however other ensembles do not require audition and may accept new members throughout the year.
