About

The only mill still weaving silk on Victorian looms in its original building, Whitchurch Silk Mill is a special part of England's industrial heritage. Volunteers are essential to its success and support the commercial work of the cafe as well as demonstrating weaving, helping visitors understand about what they are seeing, running guided tours, and maintaining the building and machinery. The Mill is one of the few places where there is uninterrupted public access to the banks of the River Test and it is keen to become known as a destination for tea on the banks as well as its museum offer.
