A befriending scheme to help combat loneliness in those who are housebound and living on their own. They carefully match people up with a volunteer Befriender, who then provides a regular weekly visit for a chat and companionship over a cup of tea. An opportunity for our befriender to talk over issues, read correspondence if asked, recommend other local charities who provide appropriate services. They do not provide help in the home or garden.
About Basingstoke NeighbourCare
Basingstoke NeighbourCare supports those in genuine need in the local community by providing services to maintain their independence.
We provide transport, befriending, handyman and gardening services. We have Community cafes/groups in Church Cottage Brighton Hill and Tadley. There is a also a Community Hub at the Popley Fields Community Centre. For more information see our individual Service Listings or contact us by calling 01256 423855. We have a voicemail service available when we are not in our office.
