Wellbeing Walks are fun, free, supportive and led by trained volunteers. Basingstoke Wellbeing Walks encourages people of all ages to join regular, short walks in their own communities.
Our walks help boost the health of participants whilst enjoying local, natural spaces in the company of others. The social side of walking can be as important for wellbeing as the walk itself.
All new walkers are welcome whether you are fit and active, haven’t exercised in a long time, or have been advised to join by a doctor.
So, come and join us!
Walkers in woodland wellbeing walk hi vis. Our local wellbeing walks can increase activity & boost health with no cost involved- it’s free! The walks give you a chance to join the community, make new friends, & take part in a fun & supportive activity. Our wellbeing walks are also led by volunteers trained to support each walk in a Covid safe & friendly environment.
About Basingstoke Voluntary Action
The professional help and advice centre for voluntary and community organisations (VCO) within Basingstoke and Deane supporting and developing the strong, vibrant, creative and diverse voluntary and community sector (VCS) that meets the needs of Basingstoke and Deane's local communities.
The BVA team can help VCO with: Guidance through the process of starting a new group; Assistance with issues once the group is in operation or potentially closing down; Developing or updating constitutions, policies and procedures; Good practice Guidelines; Good Governance Guidelines; Business Planning; Guidance through the financial requirements of running a group or charity; Searching and applying for suitable funding; Guidance through registering with the Charity Commission.
Keeping you informed with mailings targeted to your services; Assisting with publicity and promotion; Issuing a regular Newsletter; Providing training courses and workshops where identified; Advice, guidance and support regarding volunteers. BVA is also an information point for residents who want to know what help is available to them within the Borough.
