About
Working outside in the allotment or greenhouse. Members grow their own fruit and vegetables in the allotment and learn how to grow and harvest. All crops are grown from seed and are then used to cook in the kitchen. Some jobs are highly physical, such as digging, but tasks can be adapted to suit the individual's needs. To make gardening more inclusive for those with limited mobility we have a wheelchair-accessible greenhouse and raised planters on a smooth area of hard standing next to our barn. Andy, our head of horticulture, finds lots of ways to make growing food fun and inclusive, so everyone gets green fingers in the end.
