The Basingstoke Pride Team are holding Basingstoke’s first LGBTQ+ Pride Parade this year and they want you to be involved!
Getting involved with Pride shows your Support for the LGBTQ+ community and equality, promoting visibility and acceptance, challenging prejudice and discrimination, and to create a more welcoming environment for everyone.
It’s also a chance to learn about and celebrate diversity. You don’t have to be part of the LGBTQ+ community, allies are welcome and participating in Basingstoke Pride is a great way to show your allyship! By showing your support, you’re helping to enhance local people’s health and wellbeing.
So, how can you get involved?
Via sponsorship or as a key partner
This can be in many forms! it can be supplying goods or services that we need free of charge, or more usually making a financial commitment that helps us to deliver our events and fulfil our goals and ambitions for Basingstoke, its people and the community. You will be able to reach a large local audience to enhance your brand, and be associated with a thriving Basingstoke. However you show your support, we will make sure you get your value out of your investment because your support matters and really makes a difference to the local community.
The parade team is keen to link up with community groups who would like attend the parade. If you’re interested, please email: info@basingstokepride.co.uk for more information.
Walking in the parade
Groups small or large, please get in touch if you’d like to walk with us on the day. The parade is free this year, but if you would like to make a contribution to Basingstoke Pride, this would be more than welcome!
Volunteer
If you’re looking for opportunities to volunteer, we are looking for both volunteers on the day to help us look after the event, or if you’re looking for something longer term, please get in touch
to become part of the organising team.
The parade takes place in the town centre from 12pm, on Saturday 17th August 2024. We’ll begin outside Willows Coffee Shop on Church Street and will end at the amphitheatre between Festival Place and Eastrop Park, consisting of various community groups and organisations from across the borough. Once at the amphitheatre, we’ll be continuing the fun with stalls, fun activities and entertainment!
