“I started volunteering at BVA on 17th of July last year while I was still working on my masters dissertation. During the last year I got the chance to apply my theoritical knowledge to the real life scenarios at BVA through social media, content marketing, email marketing etc. It gave a lot of weight to my entry level digital marketing profile which impressed a lot of my interviewers and employers. I scored numerous internships and job offers based on my work at BVA and the fact that I was able to help the marketing team at BVA understand and adopt various tools required for smoother marketing operations. I would recommend skill-based volunteering to everyone looking to grow their profile , develop their character and explore the third sector.
One of the things that really affected my approach in life was the fact that because I had a background of working in a multinational company, I could have never imagined working with minimal funds. At BVA I learnt to promote content with very limited resources which I think is going to help me in the long run.
I would also like to specifically mention , Kevin Laing , my manager at BVA, for teaching me a lot of things about the non-profit organisations as well as training me on how to strategize effective marketing and communications with so much patience.”
Thank you Ojasvita for your dedication and hardwork towards BVA mission and goals. We need more volunteers like you in here 🙂
