Tackling the Digital Divide

How Do we Support the Local Community?

ReBoot IT is a volunteer run computer refurbishing project with the aim of increasing digital inclusion across Basingstoke & Deane.

The project started during the Covid-19 lockdowns when we supported local schools and colleges by donating computers to disadvantaged pupils so they could access online education. When schools reopened and the Government laptop scheme roll-out took place there was no longer such a demand for online education. We engaged with local charities to find out how we could continue to help and discovered that there are a significant number of vulnerable adults and children in the area whose lives could be improved with access to their own computers at home. How can you Support Us?

Can you help us raise funds online? We are one of the good causes currently taking part in the local Basingstoke & Deane Community Lottery and are in need of supporters to help us raise the funds required to continue to support those in need. Taking part in the community lottery means that you are able to support our project as well as be in for the chance to win a range of prizes in weekly draws. There are no strings attached and is easy to sign up to and play. Our Community Lottery page can be found here: Support us via the Community Lottery

We also rely on donations to run this project in order to continue to increase digital inclusion across Basingstoke & Deane. If you would like to make a donation, you can do so by clicking the donate button below.

Donating computer equipment to the project

We rely on donations of unwanted computers and are grateful for donations from individuals and local businesses.

We have limited storage space so unfortunately we are unable to accept desktop computers at the moment.

We are currently in need of laptops, tablets, webcams and mice. We wipe all data from devices before they are refurbished.

If you have any items to donate, please contact rebootit@bvaction.org.uk
