Not sure what might work for you, then read on!
Our Saturday Evening Shift kicks off around 6pm through till midnight. A lovely but busy period when our Walkers and Volunteers arrive en masse. As the excitement builds, Volunteers support with litter picking, to registering baggage, to handing out Volunteer uniforms to working in the POP UP Shop selling our infamous Walk The Walk goodies. Throughout this shift, there is so much to get involved in!
Volunteering with us Overnight is where the challenge really gets going for our amazing Walkers! If you like the nightlife, route marshalling, or giving out water whilst surrounded by London’s famous landmarks, this could be for you! Our role start times vary between 8pm and Midnight, depending on your role, and last on average 8 hours. We also offer site-based roles situated within MoonWalk Arena at Clapham Common and in whatever role you choose, early finishes can of course be requested.
Finally, the early morning team bounce into action to take the helm on Sunday Morning. Starting between 5-6am until Midday, Volunteers working the early shift gratefully bring a new sense of energy and enthusiasm. This truly is the most testing time for our Walkers and whatever team you join, your kind and motivating words could be all that is needed to get someone across the finish line! No experience is necessary.
The Walk The Walk Volunteers Team is on hand to support you from the start:
Volunteers receive Role Briefing documents, a Volunteers Handbook and have the opportunity to take part in a Virtual Volunteer Briefing session on the 12th May 2025 at 7pm. This will be your chance to meet the rest of the Volunteer Team, find out a bit more about what you will be doing on the night, as well as get up to date with all the latest information about our fabulous MoonWalk London 2025! Even if you have volunteered with us before, there is always something new to share ?.
Ahead of the MoonWalk, you will also receive Briefing Notes, specific to the role you have been allocated and a Volunteer Handbook! All Volunteers have a named Team Leader, who will give a short briefing at the beginning of the event and remain in regular contact with you throughout the night. The MoonWalk also has a Call Centre function which supports Volunteers throughout the event. The Call Centre team makes a series of welfare check in calls with all Volunteers and can deploy support to areas across the MoonWalk route as necessary. This could be include more Volunteers to a certain Zone or deploying transport to collect retired Walkers, returning them safely to MoonWalk Arena for any first aid they make require.
