Come and join our friendly team, this role involves supporting the cook to prepare a hot lunch at our Community Hub in Popley. The Community Hub runs on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month, at the Popley Fields Community Centre. First opened in April 2025, the hub gives older members of our community an opportunity to meet and socialise others.
We offers a wide range of drinks and snacks, along with a freshly prepared hot lunch and pudding.
What will I be doing?
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be:
• Helping the cook prepare the vegetables etc.
• Serving lunch
• Clearing tables, washing up.
• Clearing the cooking area away - which includes emptying bins, and cleaning kitchen surfaces.
You will need to be able to:
• Follow appropriate food hygiene legislation and Health and Safety Guidelines.
Please note that this role involves a lot of standing and walking between the kitchen and our customer tables.

Volunteer Kitchen Assistants will start at 9:30am and finish by 2pm. The Community Hub runs on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month. We request a minimum commitment of at least once a month.
