Community Speaker Volunteer

We’re looking for confident public speakers to help spread the word about the vital work of Sebastian’s Action Trust and encourage people to get involved.

In this role, you’ll be:

• Delivering presentations about the Trust’s work using an agreed PowerPoint slide pack
• Answering questions about the charity and ways in which individuals, groups and businesses can support
• Distributing supporting materials and signposting people to further information if requested
• Keeping records of presentations conducted and numbers in attendance
• You’ll also have the option to support us in securing opportunities to speak to groups, organisations and businesses

Our centre is based in North Waltham near Basingstoke, but we work across Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey so you won’t need to travel far if you’d prefer not to. There’s no minimum time commitment and you can volunteer as frequently as you wish.

What skills do I need?

We’re not looking for any particular qualifications, but you will need:

• A friendly and approachable manner
• To be a confident public speaker
• To be comfortable answering questions using agreed Q&As
• To be comfortable using a laptop and PowerPoint slides to aid presentations

Training provided:

• Induction day to learn more about the work of the charity and help you answer questions.
• Training on the presentation and Q&As
• Mandatory volunteer training modules
