Why not join our friendly team of volunteers who support our Community Hub in Popley. Part of our Community Hub offering is a ‘Chat and Natter'’ table where customers can sit if they would like to have a chat and socialise. These tables are hosted by ‘Chat and Natter’ volunteers who offer a friendly, welcoming face to our customers. The Community Hub opened in April this year and offers an opportunity for older people from our community to meet others, many of our customers are socially isolated and often lonely. The Community Hub runs on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month. We offer a wide selection of cakes light snacks and drinks, plus a freshly prepared hot lunch and pudding.
As a Chat and Natter Host, you will be:
• Providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our customers
• Creating a safe space where customers have the opportunity to sit and have a chat
• A friendly face at the table
• Initiate conversations to help people feel more comfortable
• Clearing the table away at the end of the morning
Volunteer Chat and Natter Hosts start at 10am and finish at 11:45am. We also have a Lunch Table Host from 11:45am to 1:45pm, applicants are very welcome to do both they would like to.
The Community Hub runs the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month.
We request a minimum commitment of at least once a month please.
We are looking for people who can engage easily in conversation and who:
