The Bookkeeper/Treasurer will:

  • Maintain accurate financial account records on excel spreadsheet of all incomings and outgoings payments 
  • Prepare and issue invoices 
  • Prepare and issue receipts 
  • Manage Guide Hall Bank Account (Lloyds) 
  • Set up and authorise payments on the Bank Account including direct bank transfer payments 
  • Send out reminders about payments (usually hall donations) 
  • Be an Active Member of the Guide Hall Management Committee 
  • Attend Guide Hall Management Committee meetings (3 per year) or, by exception, others. 
  • Produce Finance Summary report 3 times a year 
  • Produce end of year account and manage audit process

What skills do I need?

  • Requirement for DBS Clearance
  • Prior accountant/bookkeeper experience
  • Numeracy
  • IT Software Skills – use of MS Office Software applications, Excel, Word, Outlook (emails)

Availability Details

The work is mostly undertaken as and when financial transactional work is required i.e. receipt of funds, payments, liaison with the Bank, Auditor, etc. Maintaining the Guide Hall Account (on an excel spreadsheet) recording financial transactions. Attendance at three (3) Hall Management Committee meetings a year with ad-hoc meetings held as and when required. Providing a Guide Hall Account Statement at the Hall Management Committee meetings and the production of an end of year account statement and its audit through a defined audit process/procedure.
