Pat Fitzsimons stepped down as CEO of Basingstoke Voluntary Action last week and we agreed with her that she could leave immediately.
On behalf of the Trustees I would like to thank Pat for the energy, dedication and time that she has given to BVA during her time with us, for introducing some different thinking and ideas to the sector and for the passion she has shown. We wish her well for the future.
I am pleased to announce that we have been able to appoint an Interim CEO from Monday 11th March 2019. Tony Capon, currently the CEO of YPI until the end of March, Vice Chair Trustees BVA and Borough Councillor, will step into this role to ensure we have continuity and to provide strong leadership and direction as BVA goes through more change. Tony will step down as Trustee/Vice Chair of BVA with immediate effect and will now be held to account, as the CEO and accountable officer, by Trustees in the normal manner. For the next couple of weeks, Tony will continue to bridge both part time roles with both YPI and BVA until the end of March when his time available to BVA shall then operate at full capacity. Trustees will meet later in March to determine the length of the arrangement and key priorities and objectives for the organisation and Tony himself. I would like to welcome Tony into this different role, thank him for agreeing to take this on and I look forward to working with him in this new capacity.
Mike Browning, Trustee has agreed to step into the Vice Chair role vacated by Tony and I would like to thank him also for agreeing to do this.
It remains business as usual for BVA and we look forward to continuing to work with all our members, customers, partners and stakeholders in the weeks and months ahead.
