About MHA Communities Basingstoke and East Hampshire

At MHA Communities, we strive to enable older people to live later life well.

Our MHA Communities groups provide a whole range of support and services for older people, including a wide variety of social activities and events, outings, befriending services, interest groups, signposting and other services that enable older people to remain actively involved in their local community.

We put people at the heart of everything we do, treating people as individuals, respecting and honouring their wishes and providing services in a way that's best suited to each person's specific needs, enabling them to live later life well. All activities and services provided are delivered in co-production with our members and local partners to ensure that we offer a service that meets local needs and aspirations, our main aim being, to reduce social isolation and ensure all our members are able to live later life well. MHA activities enable people to stay physically and mentally active, get together with others to make new friendships in their local community and create a sense of belonging.

Additionally, through our preventative, person-cantered services, we can also reduce the strain on local health services - delaying, minimising or even preventing people's need for them.

At MHA North Hampshire we currently support around 300 people across the area helping them to maintain their independence and support health and wellbeing.

One of the challenges currently faced across the area is a decline in mental health through isolation and luck of connection. Our second biggest challenge right now is financial, we are going to loose our Hampshire County Council funding due to cuts in the Adult Social Care.

The MHA way:
We nurture mind, body and spirit,
We inspire the best in each other,
We respect every person, treating them with dignity.

Thank you!
MHA Communities Basingstoke and East Hampshire team
