The 2nd Annual Helping Hands for the Blind Dining in the Dark event will be a unique expedition into a world of smell, taste, sound & texture. The dinner is a benefit designed to raise awareness and funds for the Award winning Helping Hands for the Blind, Basingstoke’s only local charity for People Who Are Visually Impaired or Blind.
Without vision, information from our other senses becomes more noticeable and conversation becomes more intimate. For those that are blind, this is a chance for friends and family to experience for a few short hours what those that are blind live with every day.
Held at The Holiday Inn Hotel, Basingstoke, the evening will begin at 7.30pm with live jazz and Swing by local musician Steve Conway.
David Chatten-Smith – Chairman and founder of Helping Hands for the Blind, said “we are doing this to coinside with World Sight Day which is held every second Thursday in October, but also to give awareness to the community “
So why not join us for a fantastic two course dinner, and guests will discover what they are eating by using their sense of smell, taste, and touch.
Tickets are available for £20.00 per person
