Community Centres & Village Halls
Basingstoke & Deane are fortunate to have a wide selection around the borough
These cater for venues and provide activities and events for the local Community. Details of these facilities are available via the Borough Council website and you will need to contact the halls or centres direct for any booking enquiries or visit their websites to check out activities on offer.
Community Centres and Village Halls play an increasingly important role in bringing local communities together. They offer a focal point for neighbourhood activities and a base for local groups. We work with the volunteers that are responsible for the management of all council owned facilities, and can signpost others to areas of support. This enables local people to determine and realise the sort of activities they need for themselves.
With over 20 Community Centres and 60 Village Halls there’s no shortage of community based activities in Basingstoke and Deane. Playgroups, study groups, scouts and guides, martial arts and yoga take place within easy walking distance of home. The versatility of these buildings permits a wide range of uses.
For information on playgroups, after school clubs and nurseries view Hampshire County Council’s Early Education and Childcare webpages.
Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council work in partnership with Basingstoke Voluntary Action to support these community venues meeting or interacting with Centre Managers on a regular basis, The local communities are strongly encouraged utilise their local venues wherever possible.
