Youth Futures Foundation

The Youth Futures Foundation aim to transform the lives of young people by unlocking their potential and addressing the root causes of youth unemployment. It is a new, independent, not for profit organisation set up to tackle youth unemployment with a £90million endowment.

Current Funding

Our rolling grants programme is designed to find, fund, support and evaluate promising practice. Funding will go to organisations working with young people aged 14-24 to help overcome barriers to finding meaningful work. We are looking for approaches that can be tested, evaluated and, where proven to be effective, expanded to more young people.

We want to partner with organisations that share our values and are committed to learning, investing in good practice and sharing what works to transform the youth employment landscape.

Emergency Covid-19 funding

In response to Covid-19 we have acted swiftly to develop an emergency funding response:

  1. We have significantly increased funding available for development and impact grants to rapidly increase youth employment provision
  2. We are launching an emergency levelling up youth fund to support young people from the hardest hit communities

In addition, please note that successful applicants for Development and Impact funding will receive funding for a 6-12 month period of planning and set up from September 2020 onwards (depending on when they apply), during which time no direct delivery to young people will be required. This will be followed by funding for a delivery phase from January 2021 onwards, by which time we hope face to face work will be possible again.

Summary of who can apply

Not-for-profit voluntary or community-sector organisations, or statutory organisations applying individually or as a lead organisation on behalf of a partnership or consortia, which:

  • have been operating for at least 3 years – with a track record of working with young people who are, or are at risk of, becoming NEET (Not in Education Employment or Training) and face barriers to finding and keeping decent jobs

Please note: Basingstoke Voluntary Action work closely with the local community to raise awareness of grants and also assist with advice and guidance on applications etc. If you apply for this or any other grant, please let us know via email to enable us to understand what is being applied for. Also, if you are in fact successful in receipt of any grant please let us know to enable reporting of such funding locally.
