The majority of the British athletics Olympic teams in 2008, 2012 and 2016 had at some stage of their careers received support from the Ron Pickering Memorial Fund, including all of the London 2012 and 2016 individual Olympic athletics medallists.
Each grant is designed to make a difference, helping the recipients make the difficult transition from junior to senior level through support for equipment, specialist coaching or travel and importantly help build the athletes’ confidence and self esteem through recognition.
The 2019 application process is now open until Midnight on Friday November 30th, 2018.
The selection process then takes place in early December and the announcements of the award recipients is usually made at the end of December or early January. All applicants can expect a response by early January 2019.
The application process for the RPMF Annual Grants takes place in the autumn of each year and is available to both ablebodied and disability UK athletes between the ages of 15 and 23. Grants to athletes over 23 may be made in exceptional circumstances.
When the application process is open an athlete will be able to apply directly using the online application form. No other method of application will be accepted and the application process is only available during this time.
