The Trigger Tool was devised by Hampshire County Council for anyone coming into contact with someone who seems to be in a vulnerable situation in their own home.
It aims to help people to help themselves by providing the right contact details of organisations that can help them solve problems. The Tool uses a strength-based approach focusing on what the person can do, rather than what they cannot do.
In order to gain access to the tool a short training course is required. This aims to raise awareness of the issues that might be encountered when visiting people in their own home, assist with signposting to other relevant organisations when and if required and to always consider the person as someone with wide ranging abilities and needs.
