Austin and Hope Pilkington Trust

The Austin and Hope Pilkington Trust gives grants to registered charities that work in the UK.

The Trust has restructured its grants programme to have four grant rounds per year – visit their website (at Austin Hope Pilkington) to see the current list.

The pattern of rounds and restrictions is expected to remain the same as that for 2018 as shown below. The funded categories however will change, as outlined in the section below on Eligible Activities.

2018 Rounds and Dates

Grant Round 1

Grant Round 1,  for £1,000 grants – will open from 1st February to 28th February.

To apply, you must meet the following criteria:

  • project must relate to health (but not medical research)
  • your charity must have a minimum operating income of £100,000 and maximum operating income of £1,000,000.

Grant Round 2

Grant Round 2,  for £5,000 grants – will open from 1st April to the 3oth April.

To apply, you must meet the following criteria:

  • project must relate to health (but not medical research)
  • your charity’s operating income and operating expenditure must be a minimum of £1,000,000.

Grant Round 3

Grant Round 3,  for £1,000 grants – will open from 1st July to 31st July.

To apply, you must meet the following criteria:

  • project must be in their Community category
  • your charity must have a minimum operating income of £100,000 and maximum operating income of £1,000,000.

Grant Round 4

Grant Round 4,  for £5,000 grants – will open from 1st September to 31st September.

To apply, you must meet the following criteria:

  • project must be in their Community category
  • your charity’s operating income must be a minimum of £1,000,000.

 

Eligible Activities

The Trust operates on a three-year rotation of categories for grant applications.  The categories are as follows:

2018: – Medical (not research); Community

2019: – Children and Young People

2020: – Music and the Arts; Elderly

The project must fall within the relevant category for the year the application is submitted.

Priority is given to projects with a national remit rather than projects with a local remit.

You will not be able to save a partially completed form, so please make sure that you have all of the information that you need before starting the application form.

Please note: Basingstoke Voluntary Action work closely with the local community to raise awareness of grants and also assist with advice and guidance on applications etc. If you apply for this or any other grant, please let us know via email to enable us to understand what is being applied for. Also, if you are in fact successful in receipt of any grant please let us know to enable reporting of such funding locally.
